Information and Clues

June 17th, 2008 (11:50 pm)

Main Room

Looking around for the ramp you climbed up to arrive here, you realise that it has mysteriously disappeared.

* * * * *

Looking through the baskets of fruit on the table, you notice a green and white holly leaf attached to some cherries.

* * * * *

You take the green and white holly leaf.

* * * * *

Looking at the benches, you discover a small niche at the back of one of the benches, next to the wall.

* * * * *

You reach into the niche and find that it holds a very small key.

* * * * *

You take the key out of the niche.

* * * * *

Looking around the room, you notice a round trapdoor, nearly blending in with the floor.

* * * * *

There doesn't seem to be any apparent way of opening the trapdoor.

* * * * *

After placing the small yellow flower in the bowl in the stargazing room, you return to the main room and notice that the trapdoor is now open.

* * * * *

Looking more closely at the tablecloth, you notice that a section of the tablecloth has a pattern of green holly leaves on it.

* * * * *

You put the green holly leaf on the pattern on the tablecloth. A moment later you hear a faint tinkling sound.

Container Room

You lower yourself through the trapdoor, and are now standing in another room.

* * * * *

You look in the chest and find a plain green holly leaf.

* * * * *

One of the containers seems to be locked, with no apparent way of opening it.

* * * * *

After tugging on the rope at the new platform, you find that the locked container is now open.

* * * * *

There doesn't seem to be anything inside the container, aside from a pattern of a candle on the bottom of the container.

* * * * *

You put the candle from the platform on the pattern inside the container, and hear a click.

Stargazing Room

Looking more closely at the lunar charts on the walls, you notice a pattern of green and red holly leaves near the bottom of one of the charts.

* * * * *

You reach out and touch the lunar chart, and one of the holly leaves in the pattern comes away in your hand. It seems that this particular holly leaf in the pattern was a real leaf.

* * * * *

Looking at the telescope, you notice what seems to be a very small keyhole on the side of the telescope, near the end where the lens is.

* * * * *

You use the key in the keyhole on the side of the telescope, and it unlocks.

* * * * *

After using the key on the side of the telescope, you find that the lens on the telescope is able to be removed.

* * * * *

Removing the lens, you see a small pouch just inside the telescope.

* * * * *

The pouch is made of a red velvet material, and is tied with a green ribbon.

* * * * *

Untying the pouch, you look inside and find what appears to be a sparkling kind of dust.

* * * * *

After emptying the contents of the pouch, more of the dust appears in the bag after a few moments.

* * * * *

Looking around the room, you notice a dark green ceramic bowl sitting on one of the benches. The bowl is filled with small leaves.

* * * * *

You place the small yellow flower on the leaves in the bowl. A moment later, you hear a faint thudding sound.

Romantic Area

The candles sit on a base, which has a semi-opaque cover sitting over the top of the candles and resting on the base.

* * * * *

Lifting the cover from one of the candles, you move the candle and find a pattern on the base, of green and red holly leaves.

* * * * *

You put the green and red holly leaf on the pattern on the candle base. A moment later you hear a faint tinkling sound.

* * * * *

You take one of the candles from a table.

* * * * *

You reach behind the seat cushions of one of the couches and find a green and pink holly leaf.

Plant Room

Looking closely at the floor, you notice a pattern of a shaded holly leaf on the floor near one of the walls.

* * * * *

You put the table candle on the shaded pattern of the holly leaf on the floor. The light from the candle illuminates the holly leaf, and a green and pink pattern forms on it.

* * * * *

You put the green and pink holly leaf on the pattern on the floor. A moment later you hear a faint tinkling sound.

* * * * *

Moving the pots on the floor to look underneath them, you notice a pattern on one part of the floor, of green and white holly leaves.

* * * * *

You put the green and white holly leaf on the pattern on the floor. A moment later you hear a faint tinkling sound.

* * * * *

You pick one of the small yellow flowers from a plant on the wall.

Platform

After putting all the holly leaves in their places, you find that a path has formed, beginning just outside the plant room, next to the other path. This new path runs alongside.

* * * * *

Tugging on the rope, you bring it down slightly, and it stays in this position.

* * * * *

There doesn't seem to be any way to open the trapdoor.

* * * * *

After putting the candle on the pattern inside the container, you find that the trapdoor on the platform has unlocked, and is now open.

* * * * *

You sprinkle the sparkling dust through the open trapdoor.

* * * * *

After a moment you see the beginnings of a spiral ramp leading from the trapdoor to just below the platform. The ramp then evens out into a new path, which follows underneath the path above it and ends at the tree you originally entered the treehouses from. It appears that the ramp you walked up when you first arrived has now reappeared, extending downwards to the ground.

----------

Other Information

Main Room:

The tables are elegantly carved, but otherwise plain, and made of a deep brown wood that matches the trees outside.

The tablecloth wouldn't be able to reach the ground.

Looking outside and upwards, you can see some similar trees stretching into the distance. Looking down, you can't see the ground but can see the tops of a lot of smaller trees. It's quite a nice view.

The fruits are all sorts of weird and wonderful, such as something blue that resembles a strawberry, a few small and round purple ones, and some long and rather flat-looking things that look more like vegetables. Plus some recognisable fruit such as pineapples, cherries, and some kiwi fruit.

Romantic Area:

The candles on the tables are small and round, and are a deep red.

The candles are sitting on a small round, red base.

The chandelier is ornate, and holds perhaps a hundred candles.

Plant Room:

The cushions are large and square-shaped, just the size for sitting on. They're covered in various colours such as green, orange, and pink.

The plants aren't very tall, but have broad leaves. They take up quite a bit of room.

Platform:

It's a tall yellow candle.

Romantic Area

June 17th, 2008 (11:49 pm)

Following the path ahead and to the left, this treehouse has several small, round tables and chairs, and a few couches around the tables. Small, covered red candles adorn the tables. The roof in this room is a bit higher than the others, and there is a chandelier with candles suspended from the roof. The walls have a lovely green pattern on them.

Stargazing Room

June 17th, 2008 (11:49 pm)

Following the path to the left of the main room, this treehouse has a long bench on either side, each with green padding. The roof is absent in this particular room. There are some detailed lunar charts on the walls, and an elaborate telescope in the middle of the floor. It seems this room was intended for stargazing.

Plant Room

June 17th, 2008 (11:49 pm)

Following the path ahead and to the right, this treehouse appears more informal than the others. There is a lack of any sort of tables or chairs, with just cushions on the floor for sitting on. There are a few plants in medium-sized pots around the room, and some with vines and flowers hanging down from pots attached to the walls. The room has a relaxed feel to it.

Platform

The path that has formed runs parallel to the one connecting the main room and the plant room, so that there is now a choice of two paths to take when going from one room to the other. This path is the same as the one beside it, with only a difference in the middle, where it widens out to create a circular platform before continuing on. There is what seems to be a trapdoor in the middle of the platform, and there is also a cord to one side of the trapdoor, hanging down from a branch higher up. A candle sits on the floor in the middle of the platform.

Main Room

June 17th, 2008 (11:48 pm)

Finally reaching the top of the long wooden ramp that winds around the tall and ancient-looking tree, you find it has led to a quaint treehouse setting. The ramp has led to a large covered and enclosed room built out from the tree. Inside the room, there are two large round tables with chairs in the middle, and a long bench on either side, curving to fit against the walls of the room. Each bench has green padding on the seat and a curving table above it. At the far end of the room is a table covered with a green and white tablecloth, upon which are some baskets of exotic-looking fruit. There are a few more slightly smaller treehouses further away, attached to other, similar, trees. Platforms branch out and connect each of the rooms with the others, with one leading away to the left, another ahead and to the left, and the third one from this treehouse leading ahead and to the right.

Container Room

Upon entering the hidden room underneath the main treehouse, the walls disappear in places and are replaced with windows instead, letting plenty of light in. Green curtains surround the windows, and rugs and mats adorn the floor. There is a chest in the corner, with a few smaller containers next to it.

Welcome to the LiveJournal entries for the Treetop Vista mystery.

Information and Clues

December 15th, 2007 (09:28 am)

Cavern

As you step into the cavern, the wall of the cave that you entered through expands behind you and seals you in.

* * * * *

Looking up at the fireflies, you can see that they are glowing serenely on the walls of the cavern.

* * * * *

You pick a firefly up from the wall, and it sits in your hand. After a moment it flies back to the wall.

* * * * *

Upon a closer inspection of the fireflies in the cavern, you notice that one of them seems to be a glowing stone, rather than a firefly.

* * * * *

You prise the stone from the wall. It glows gently in your hand.

* * * * *

After blowing out the candle in the lantern in the greenery, you go back to the cavern and notice that a section of the wall underneath and to the left of the platform, has moved across to form a doorway.

* * * * *

You step through the doorway and notice some steps to your right.

* * * * *

After ascending the steps, the wall ahead of you moves forward and then slides across, creating a doorway. You move through the doorway and onto a small platform. This is the platform you could see from below.

* * * * *

You look around the platform but there doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary there.

* * * * *

You look around the cavern from the platform but nothing seems to be different.

* * * * *

As you reach the bottom of the steps, you notice that the door you came through has remained open.

* * * * *

Looking around, you notice a rather long coil of rope hanging from the wall above the door.

* * * * *

You take the rope down from the wall.

* * * * *

After going through the doorway back into the cavern, the door closes behind you.

* * * * *

As you step forward from the platform, you feel yourself standing on a solid surface. It seems that there is some kind of invisible ground beneath your feet.

* * * * *

Cautiously, you make your way forward from the platform. The ground you are standing on seems to be a bridge, and extends to the opposite wall of the cavern.

* * * * *

You reach the end of the bridge and stand in front of the wall opposite the platform.

* * * * *

You notice that there is a small lever on the wall just beside the edge of the bridge.

* * * * *

You pull the lever, and a section of the wall in front of you moves back and then slides across to the left. There is now an entrance where the wall used to be.

* * * * *

Looking around the cavern, you notice that the circle on the floor is now glowing green.

* * * * *

Standing on the circle faintly glowing green, on the floor of the cavern, you don't notice that anything is different.

* * * * *

Looking at the circle on the floor of the cavern, you notice that it is now glowing blue.

* * * * *

Standing on the circle faintly glowing blue, on the floor of the cavern, you don't notice that anything is different.

* * * * *

Looking at the circle on the floor of the cavern, you notice that it is now glowing purple.

* * * * *

Standing on the circle faintly glowing purple, you look around the cavern and see the wall that you entered through expanding once more. It seems that you now have a way out.

Ice Cave

Looking around the ice cave, you notice that the corners of the room are too dark for you to be able to see if anything is there.

* * * * *

You take one of the fireflies from the wall in the main cavern.

* * * * *

Holding the firefly up, you see that you have illuminated most of the room. One corner of the ice cave has remained dark.

* * * * *

Looking around the ice cave, you can now see a switch on the wall.

* * * * *

You press the switch on the wall.

* * * * *

You cannot feel anything strange about the wall.

* * * * *

Looking around the ice cave, you can now see a small lever on the wall in one corner.

* * * * *

You pull the lever downwards and it locks into place.

* * * * *

After putting the stone in place on the table in the library, you return to the ice cave and notice that the layer of ice on the floor has melted into the water below.

* * * * *

After removing the stone from the table in the library, you see a layer of ice reform over the water.

* * * * *

Lowering yourself into the cold water, you take a deep breath and swim downwards. The pool of water isn't very deep and it doesn't take you long to reach the bottom. On one of the walls near the bottom you can see a small circle, glowing faintly orange.

* * * * *

You touch the circle on the wall, and it becomes a darker shade of orange.

Library

You look more closely at the table and see that the painted pattern is of flowers and leaves, with a small circle in the middle.

* * * * *

You put the small glowing stone on the table in the circle. The stone stops glowing.

* * * * *

Taking the stone from the table, you notice that it begins to glow again.

* * * * *

Looking closely at the lanterns, you find a small keyhole on the side of one of them.

* * * * *

You try using the key from the watering room on the lantern, but it doesn't fit.

* * * * *

You use the key from the storage room on the lantern, and hear it click.

* * * * *

Lifting the lantern off the wall, you look behind it and notice a small circle on the wall. The circle is glowing faintly blue.

* * * * *

You touch the circle on the wall behind the lantern, and it becomes a darker shade of blue.

Watering Room

You go through the tunnel on the right ahead of you, and step into a watering room.

* * * * *

You take one of the torches from the wall.

* * * * *

You try to open the cabinet on the floor, but it seems to be locked.

* * * * *

You cannot see any way of unlocking the cabinet.

* * * * *

After pulling the lever in the ice cave down, you try to open the cabinet again and find that it is now unlocked.

* * * * *

Opening the cabinet, you find a small circle on the shelf inside. The circle is glowing faintly purple.

* * * * *

You touch the circle on the shelf in the cabinet, and it becomes a darker shade of purple.

* * * * *

The flowing water in the trough is a deep blue, and you cannot see through it.

* * * * *

Feeling along the bottom of the trough, you find a key.

Greenery

You go through the tunnel on the left ahead of you, and step into a greenery.

* * * * *

Looking at the lanterns on the walls, you can see that they are candle lanterns, with a latch at the front for opening the lantern. One of the lanterns is locked, and has a small keyhole on the side.

* * * * *

This particular lantern is attached firmly to the wall, and you cannot remove it.

* * * * *

You use the key from the watering room on the lantern, and the lantern unlocks.

* * * * *

The candle seems to be attached to the bottom of the lantern, and you cannot remove it.

* * * * *

You blow out the candle in the lantern that you unlocked.

* * * * *

After a while, you notice that the candle in the lantern has lighted itself again.

* * * * *

As you pick a flower from one of the trees, a section of the ground near the end of one of the long, rectangular pots disappears.

* * * * *

Peering into the tunnel, you cannot see very far into the darkness.

* * * * *

Tying the rope securely around the heavy pot on the floor, you drop it down into the tunnel.

* * * * *

At the bottom of the tunnel, you see a light coming from another room. You turn towards the room.

Storage Room

Looking through the cupboards, you find one of them to be empty aside from a small circle on the back wall of the cupboard. The circle is glowing faintly green.

* * * * *

You touch the circle at the back of the cupboard, and it becomes a darker shade of green.

* * * * *

Looking at the cupboards, you notice that one of them appears to be locked. There doesn't seem to be any apparent way to unlock it.

* * * * *

After pressing the switch on the wall of the ice cave, you check the locked cupboard in the storage room. The cupboard is now unlocked.

* * * * *

You open the cupboard and find a key inside.

Greenery

December 15th, 2007 (09:27 am)

A row of shelves in the greenery line the walls, their pots housing a number of small plants, some with long vines hanging down towards the ground. In the middle of the room are two long, rectangular pots in which have been planted several taller plants and small trees. You can smell the perfume of flowers in the air. There is a small watering can on one of the shelves, and lanterns hanging from the walls at regular intervals. Sitting on the ground near the end of one of the rectangular pots is a large, ornate, and rather heavy potted plant.

Storage Room

The room underneath the greenery is slightly smaller, and seems to be a place for storage. You can see some garden tools propped against a wall in one corner, and along another wall is a bench above which are some pantry cupboards. A single lantern hangs from the ceiling overhead.

Watering Room

December 15th, 2007 (09:27 am)

This room seems to be for watering the plants in the room next to it. There is a trough of flowing water attached to the wall opposite the doorway. The water flows from a small gap in the wall on the right, and leaves through the wall at the other end of the trough. There are also two small round tables, one holding a bag of potting mix and a container of fertiliser. A few empty buckets sit underneath the table. The other table has a large watering can sitting on it. You can also see a cabinet on the floor near one of the walls. Torches along the walls illuminate the room.
